3l73 YAMAHA EXCITER ENGINE TENSIONER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove LH side panel, belt guard, belt and secondary clutch.
2. Align clutches to factory specifications and tighten front engine mounts only.
3. Remove nuts retaining rear engine mount plate to the chassis.
4 . Place tensioner bracket over the studs on top of the motor mount plate and place the back of the bracket against the shaft bearing mount. Tighten both nuts securely.
5. Attach the spherical joint to the tensioner bracket with the 3/8-24 1/2" Allen head bolt using a heavy 3/8 washer between the joint and the bracket and a std 3/8" washer and nylock nut on the opposite side.
6. Place the 1 7/8" OD washer on the tensioner stud and insert the round head of the stud into the flat side of the compression bumper.
7 . Place the groove in the compression bumper over the raised area on the crankcase and adjust the tensioner until the assembly is snug. Turn the adjuster 1/2 to 3/4 turns tighter and secure the jam nuts.
8 . Install the secondary clutch belt , belt guard and LH side panel.
