3240 EXCITER 44MM OIL INJECTION KIT

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Turn the fuel valve off or clamp the line to shut off the fuel flow.

2. Remove the belt guard.

3. Loosen the clamps holding the carb flanges to the airbox.

4. Loosen the intake flange clamps holding the carburetors on.

5. Remove the fuel supply lines into each carburetor.

6. Remove both carhs and move aside leaving the other lines and cables attached.

7. Remove airbox assembly and remove one oil line from the fuel line fitting. Attach the remaining line to the fitting.

8. Remove both rubber intake flanges from the cylinders and clean the mating surfaces.

9. Apply Yamabond 4 to both the cylinder and intake flange mating surfaces.

10. Install the oil injection adaptors between the cylinder and carburetor flange with the injection nozzles and hoses at the bottom. Use the (4) longer bolts supplied. NOTE: The new manifolds have slotted bolt, holes to allow use on all year Exciters. Before tightening up the bolts be sure to align the manifolds with the cylinder port then tighten in place.

11. Route the oil lines from the oil pump with smooth bends. Avoid short bends or kinks in the hose. Clamp the lines to the flanges with the original clamps from the removed tee.

12. Install airhox arid mount both carbs into the intake flanges and air box and tighten the clamps securely.

13. Connect the fuel lines to both carburetors.

14. Turn the fuel valve on and check all connections for leakage.

15. Locate oil pump cable adjuster in the middle of the oil pump cable.

16. Pull cable apart at t joint and fully extend the cable to allow maximum oil flow before starting motor.

17. Start the motor and let it idle while watching the oil lines for oil flow. Oil should move thru the lines and into the cylinders. If oil doesn’t flow in several minutes check that the installation was completed as directed. Caution: Do not run the engine faster than an idle until the oil lines are completely full of oil.

18. Check oil pump cable adjustment and reinstall protection boots over the cable adjuster

Note: Your carb main jets can be leaned down by one size if desired due to a slightly richer mixture caused by removing the oil from the fuel lines.
