#3255 POLARIS 650 INDY TRIPLE PIPE TUNING KIT
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Shut off the fuel valve.
2. Loosen the airbox to carb flange clamps.
3. Remove the two screws holding the air box in position, their is one on each side of the air box.
4. Mark each carburetor cap so that it can be returned to its’ original position and then remove the caps and slides from all three carbs. Carefully set the slides aside avoiding nicks and scratches.
5. Remove the vent hoses from each carburetor.
6. Remove the air box by moving it back to clear the carbs and lift ing the PTO end up and pulling it out the PTO side of the sled.
7. Remove the float bowl drain lines from the bottom of each carb.
8. Loosen the carb flange clamp and remove one carb and change the main and pilot jets to those supplied.
9. Install this carb and repeat step 7 for the remaining carbs.
10. Adjust the air screw on each carb to 1.0 turns.
11. Attach the drain lines and vent hoses to all the carbs.
12. Separate the airbox and remove all the foam inside.
13. Install the airbox and secure it with the two screws. Reuse the foam at the inlet of the airbox.
14. Raise the needles in each slide assembly to the fourth position. (Second richest)
15. Install the slides and caps into their respective carbs and tighten the caps securely.
16. Check that all throttle cables and choke cables are routed without sharp bends or kinks. Check for smooth throttle operation.
17. Open the clutch guard and remove the drive belt.
18. Loosen the clutch cover bolts one at a time, in a circular pattern, until the cover is against the clutch bolt washer.
19. Remove the clutch flyweights and install the weights provided. Use thread locking adhesive on the pivot pin threads when installing the nuts.
20. Tighten the clutch cover bolts one at a time, in a circular pattern, until they are securely tightened.
21. Install the drive belt and lock the clutch guard in position.
22. Remove the chain case cover and replace the top sprocket from the stock 21 tooth to the 20 tooth sprocket supplied in the kit. Replace the cover and refill the chain case with 3 oz. of Polaris chain lube.
23. Turn the fuel valve on and check all fuel line connections for leakage and repair as necessary before operating the sled.
Note: Above 25 degrees F it is possible to use 270 main jets and also to run the needles in the third (middle) position for improved throttle response and power. Caution; Never use these specifications when it is colder than 25 degrees F or engine failure may occur!
